There are quite a few in my class that want to go there… Right about the time you are holding a line at whatever “junior base” that was assigned to you…you will transfer and be sitting reserve again in IAH. Your plan will put you on reserve a lot longer than some. If you live there, it is totally worth it! If you live in base, sitting reserve is great for those with a family…especially Long Call Reserve. Your cadet status will get you “class seniority.” It really makes a difference with sim schedules. It helps a little with your initial base assignment…study which bases would be the easiest commute/most junior and prioritize them. As things sit now, it could be the difference between SLC, BOI or PDX.
