I don't get this post since you said you're leaving (presuming for Delta considering the long wait time you mentioned... congrats).

However, staying here because of the reasons above is incredibly short sighted. Someone hired a year ago at American has about 2000 pilots below them. AA has to continue hiring because most of the pilots are retiring in the next 10 years so that person will continue to move up. 30%-40% in the company on their 10th anniversary is very likely. Someone hired at American a year ago will make A320 CA in MIA within the next year or two at the most. That's way more money than any CA at G4 is making, even under the crappy current contract which Delta is sure to drag up. It's a no brainer if you have more than 10 years left before retirement.

United has claimed they will hire 400 a month this year (I doubt it, but that's still eye watering growth if they actually do it). Their contract will probably be better than American, and the MCO base didn't go super senior. They are also opening a LAS base and have said they will look at other satellite bases. Uprgrade immediately after your first year if you want it. Widebody as a newhire.

Delta is Delta. You'll spend quality time in NYC or ATL and you'll fly with Deltoids but you'll make incredible money and the junior 767 CA in ATL is a May 2022 hire. Think about that for a minute. What a time to be alive.

Anyone who stays at Allegiant at this point is lazy, has too many skeletons in their closet to get hired, or made bad life choices to get bound with the golden handcuffs. The rest of you should get your log book dusted off and updated, and put your apps out. Wake up. You're giving up a lot for "home every night" that can be gone with the flick of a keyboard. The recent letters from the union and management should make it perfectly clear: Nothing is going to improve here any time soon. It's probably going to get worse.

the writing is on the wall here. Why would you let the greatest hiring event in airline history pass you by while hoping for change from allegiant management? It will never come.

cut your losses and put your money where your mouth is and get out. It’ll be the best decision you ever made for your life and your family
This guy gets it.
