The bottom line is that ALPA was not forced to accept anything. They looked at a final offer and decided it was better than the available alternatives. The pilots later looked at the TA and also decided it was better than the alternatives. Choices were made at each step, nothing was forced.
If that helps you rationalize it, then good for you.
I will give you this though, UAL or AA didn't do a ****ing thing to move the process along. But that isn't unusual. American never has and UAL only has once in my career.
