Without the wheels it is like 8.25". The 9" is accurate wit hthe wheels and feet.
I just got my flight deck case, and it's now a solid 9.5 inches with feet and wheels. This sadly will NOT fit in the side bin on the CRJs. Would 9.5 inches fit in the aircraft you fly? And what model aircraft do you fly? If it'll fit in larger aircraft I'll hold on to it, if not, big bummer.
