What a depressing post. As a guy who left at 52 and 17 years all I can say is that I get up every morning and thank the aviation Gods that I left NJA, eat breakfast then give thanks again. Not only do I love my job now but my career earnings will be much higher. YMMV.
I typed up my take on leaving NJA 3 yrs ago with 16.5 yrs seniority and going to SWA but it was so darn long I just deleted it all.
The long and short of it is this: Totally worth it. I have never been happier in my life except maybe my wedding day. 0.0% regret.
