Last month, I sat a combination of long/short call for 6 days without being used. They had pre posted 30 hours of rest for 1800 that evening to 0000 the next night. No call. Several days later they tried to assign a rotation and I called to tell them I didn't have 30 hours of rest. Of course they pushed back, but when I asked where I had been legally notified of such rest they couldn't provide an answer and eventually dropped it.
