The reason most people, including myself, stay here is to be able to be home daily living in base. Closing multiple bases is a recipe for a mass exodus. People are going to be hesitant to move into base if they sense they might have it shut down around them within a couple of years.
Mass exodus implies people have tons of options to move on. Most FOs here simply are not competitive. I was lucky to get an opportunity to interview at two legacies. Most won’t.
