There's no longer any room in the overhead bins BECAUSE of the charges for checked bags. People are playing Tetris with their enormous bags just to save $50 or whatever it is now. Can't say I blame them, but I've had to continually check my crew bag planeside while commuting ever since CAL started charging bag fees a few weeks ago.
