There are plenty of alternatives to flying for GoJet. Get a job at Home Depot, Sam's Club, in construction, go back to school, get an instructor job. Do anything else but work for GoJet.
It's a lot like the Ford Model T: You can have it in any color you want, as long as it's black.
Same goes for jobs and supporting your family: You can have any job you want, as long as it's NOT for GoJet.
I love it when other commuter pilots chirp in about "morality" of flying for crappy wages or giving career advice on where to go or not to go.
Hey Captain... let me bring you back to reality:
Home Depot, Sam's Club, construction jobs keep you away from flying/currency. Now if you're furloughed from a legacy carrier in business with train-to-proficiency in contract, you might have an argument. But take a pilot whose carrier actually shut down... they don't have the same option.
Would any ALPA groups support taking assessments of 20% of your salary to support those furloughees just so they don't go to places like GoJet or other questionable carriers? Until you do... you have no room to talk.
No, I don't work for GoJet.
