This isn't about feelings and emotions, its business-its about earnings, balance sheets, investor confidence, and head count. Head count is too high, it will be reduced.

You just don't get it. It has nothing to do with "feelings" or "emotions". It's how UPS continues to screw their employees when they don't have to. Is the head count too high? Tell me you have proof that it is, please! When you hire a guy, then pay for him to move his family 3000 miles, then displace him 3000 back where he started, then furlough the guy? You just lost that guy FOREVER! He will do nothing but fight the company till he retires. How is that good for the investor?

Just heard that M&M/Mars will layoff about 30 people even though they made over 1 billion last year. When asked why the layoff, they said it was needed to make the company more efficient. Just another example of how these companys are using this recession to pad their wallets. UPS is no different! When they start losing money, then we can talk. Until then, screw em!
