For your duty, Sir I salute you.
You are one of the
few (that I know) that actually contributes to the military.

Its the ones that have to go and "fly the desk"
at the San Diego Coast Guard that I have a problem with.

Your job is far beyond what I am talking about.
You sir, Are a true warrior and American.
I greatly respect that!
Its the other 75% that shirk out on their Airline job.
My apologies to you and your dedication.

I have seen it too many times these guys taking
these "pivot man" jobs in the service so they don't
have to fly reserve or some other less desireable
job. I question their Airline loyality.

It seems to me that when the going gets tough the Military
guys bail for some cush office assignment.

You Sir, on the other hand are no where near that statement.
I'm nobody special, but thanks anyway. My point is that I work with a lot of airline guys, and some that you probably know and have flown with. I'm not saying that I've never seen a man-day request that didn't make me snicker, but I do know that if we throw down orders on Christmas or Thanksgiving, the Commander will usually get a call from the Chief Pilot asking WTF? So in the end, a guy who's gaming the system will get called on it on both fronts.

And I know tons of AA/SWA/United/Delta/FDX guys who volunteer to suck up bad deals for less pay, just to get a chance to drop a bomb on some Al-Qeada idiot.
