Do these press releases really mean anything? Or is it just like the government saying that they have a strong dollar policy but do nothing to back the statement up?
I'll be the first to admit that an organization mired in bureaucracy induced atrophy like ALPA national needs a wake up call, but if nothing else a timely press release in support of the Amerijet pilots would remind the ALPA membership at large that our national union is aware of labor management relations in the industry. It might even help remind furloughed ALPA members to not consider crossing the line at Amerijet for a flying job just because it's not an ALPA strike. Lip service maybe, but I say our organization needs to do the right thing. Jayson has shown the way, hopefully national will spend some time and money showing support.
