If you are serious about Cathay I suggest you go to the PPrune website
www.pprune.org and look under the Fragrant Harbour forum. There are a lot of details on how to get hired. As someone who has gone through an Asian interview process I will tell you that you need to be thorough and sharp. You must demonstrate a level of proficiency that exceeds what they can get from their local pilots (else they wouldn't need you).
Cathay used to be the best airline job in the world, but getting in without an RAF background was very difficult. It's no longer that way, both the job and the background. You will be a very small voice on that flightdeck and the Captain will be a very large voice. Good luck to you if you get on.
