Default The Fedex way

Fedex has two ways to get a flying job.
1. Connections: You need (read: must have) a buddy (the more the merrier) recommend you, its part of the app process. Preferable they have flown with you and can vouch form your flying abilty. Having (started the process to) gone to bat for a friend I found that because of the large number of Fedex apps with referrals FM is requesting that Fedex pilots who "TRULY" are willy to go to bat for thier referral to fill out additional forms stating why, how, etc, etc this applicant is worthey to work at Fedex. Additionally a trip (together) to see the CP (arranged ahead of time, not a pop-in) is suggested. This is all because of the sheer quanity of apps on file and is being used as another way to cull applications .
2. Internal. Great way for the pilot who lacks friends at Fedex (or doesn't want to use the ones they know ) Work at Fedex, throwing boxes or some other ramp job, apply after a set period time (don't quote me here, it may be a year or maybe a bit longer, certainly not more than two years, find out before you give up your day job if you think it could be too long) requirements are the same as externial apps, no advantage there, but you do get preferental treatment in several areas that outsiders don't. If you meet the quals for Fedex and are willing to throw boxes to get this job. Do more investigating, I may have some of the facts wrong so ask someone who has gotten on as an "internal".
