At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty offocer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely
That's what I was laughing about, apparently the photographer had complete insight into the dialog on the flight deck AND the EICAS messages (or lack of).

I'm certain that crew was well aware of the condition of the aircraft. I'm also certain that the 777 flys great on one engine (I do it in the Sim several times a year, and I have one "precautionary" in flight shut down).

After reading about the Air Force C-5 crash in Dover, a recurring comment I heard was "they had plenty of fuel, why did they rush?". In contrast, maybe the 777 crew in this photo took their time Of course how can you tell what was going on by looking at a photo?
