I don't understand why some guys complain about the "smallest" things.
When I was in the right seat or back seat, I always appreciated flying with the seriously fat captains. I thought of it this way: if by chance a window blew out, we could always stuff the fat fella into the hole and we'd probably be able to maintain pressurization up to FL370. As well, from what I remember, we had a bunch of seriously fat First Officers too. Remember the F/O who was soooo large that he couldn't fit into the "sleep room" on the MD-11? I think that was when they instituted a weight limit for crewmembers using the box. Seems to me he wasn't allowed to fly any trip that had an in-flight scheduled "box" rest.
But you never saw any really fat 727 S/O's because they just couldn't fit in that damn seat.
