Capt. John M. Costa, 54 of Folsom, passed away on February 17, 2011 with his loving wife and son by his side after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Born in Almada, Portugal John moved to North Jersey at the age of 13. After graduating from Elizabeth High School he went on to Spartan College of Aeronautics achieving his dream of becoming a pilot. John flew for many airlines before he was hired by Spirit Airlines in 1997 where he proudly flew as captain of the Airbus, DC-9 and MD-80. John is predeacesed by his father Mauricio. Survived by his mother Maria Isabel (nee) Boieiro of Kearney, NJ. Loving husband of Pamela (nee) Edmiston of Folsom, NJ. Devoted father of Dayne at home, Melissa and Nate Corcoran of Ambler, PA, Britney and John Leahey, Kate and Bobby Digerolamo all of Winslow Twp, NJ along with his 5 grandchildren. Loving nephew of Ildefonsa Costa along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating his life on February 24,2011.
