ORF is/was the quickest base to get a line, i sat on RSV for over a year at other bases but could have held a line in ORF about 2 months after finishing IOE. The lines out of ORF werent very commuter friendly but if youre living in the area everyone there seems to like it.

I'm an ORD area guy, think it would be a smart jump to get on early over here or am I going to get stuck making a very difficult commute for awhile? I know nothing is set in stone, just curious what the informed opinion is over there.

The word is that ORD is going to be the bigger base and be junior for FO's but nothing is set in stone yet.

When I was at awac Orf was great if you lived in the area which I did though it can be kind of expensive depending on where you wanna live since it's a military town. A lot different vibe from the crews down there. More laid back guys and gals who regularly got together outside of work. It's the smallest and most junior base so it was more family like. When on reserve tho just expect to do a lot of mx repo flights and then double dh home and have prior to 6am shows and end after 6 pm on day 4.

In ORD you can take the blue line to pretty much any crash pad. Most stay on the Blue Line Cumberland. 2 stops from Oh are.
