Yeah, that probably makes the most sense. I read a few pages back that they were flexible on the 500 hours, so I wasn't sure if that is something that is just for schools that they are affiliated with -- as they advertise -- or if it is something that they apply more broadly.

The partner schools are listed here:

It’s a great program and there is literally no downside. When your CFI friends ask what you did last weekend you can casually mention your quick weekend trip to Tokyo for sushi and watch their heads explode. :-)

I met with a pilot recruiter at Sun N’ Fun and he explained the program pretty well. Never got to ask what type of computer based training is it? Is it -200 stuff? Also, the fact that it’s taking months for a background check to come back is kinda of discouraging

Great folks at AirWis, I ended up going elsewhere, but have only the best to say about Air Whiskey guys

That’s awesome to hear! AW seems to be a solid regional from what I’ve been hearing. I’ll definitely apply for the program as soon as I get to 500 hours

Anyone finish the airmen trainee program?
For those guys who finished the program, what happened once you hit your ATP mins? As far as paperwork? Do you have to go back through Sterling all over again...? And re-submit all your employment stuff like W2's and everything? Or is it just an FAA and criminal background check?

Resigning from Airman Trainee
Hey guys had a question. A friend of mine resigned from the Airman Trainee program to go to another regional airline and was charged around $400 for travel expenses. They were a trainee for around a year. I believe this was from transporting them for the interview and and for orientation. Has anyone else had to pay this?
