Default Line Composition at Air Wisconsin

Trying to decide if I should interview with Air Wisconsin, QOL for me is the number one thing and we live near Kenosha. I know 12 days off is the min which is good. What sort of lines do most line holders have-usually 12 off only, 4 day trips, any local trips, etc? I would prefer max days off, even at the expense of earning money, but I heard it's impossible to drop any trips at AWAC. Is that right? I'm guessing it's 5 leg days generally? Any other insight is really helpful. Thanks guys.

Varies throughout the year. I probably get 13 or 14 off on average as a junior captain. This month and next are 13 off. Occasionally you score 16 off. On reserve you will get min time off. Legs per day are 2 to 5. Usually see a lot of 3 and 4 leg days. Some months you get a schedule full of 30 hour overnights and barely do anything.

Trips vary by base and other factors. Mtx bases like ORF had more early shows on day 1 and sometimes more day trips. Generally most lines are 4 day trips with 3 days off. If block hours are down or staffing is up there will be more days off. There are some 3 day trips thrown in as well but most are 4 days. Sometimes they will have CDO lines where you fly an out-back overnight with the rest period during the day. Lately there have been only 2 lines of those in PHL, but it can change as time goes by. Days off will vary with staffing. Most months there will be a bunch of 12 day off lines, a bunch of 13 and 14 day off lines and some 15-16 ones thrown in. As always, seniority makes for better options. With creative bidding and not commuting you can make a pretty good life.

And yes, historically we run pretty lean so dropping trips is hard to do unless you can find another pilot willing to pick it up, but there is usually enough open time at 1.5 or 2x pay that it probably won't happen often. With the constant hiring and flow out the door I don't see us being fat enough in the near future where we have lots of reserves sitting around for very long.

Good info. Thanks for posting. Can you swap with open time trips, trade with other pilots or drop down to min monthly guarantee?

Ord schedules so far start relatively late and finish early. The most commutable lines since I've been at awac.

Yes to swaps pending approval. Dropping not a chance. If you live in Kenosha then its a no brainer.
