Default X-Ray Updates

From the most recent X-Ray it does seem we are closer and closer to a contract. Just wanted to start a thread since this forum is dead. What are you hoping to see? How will the pilots vote? When are you really expecting to see a new contract implemented? Hesitations, expectations, thoughts?

I for example understand the grievances with PBS, but I’m not anti-PBS to where it’d sway me to vote no one single issue regarding a contract. Plus it seems that the NC could send a contract with stipulations of implementing a PBS later once the nooks and crannies are discovered later.

other than that I hope to see better pay for LCA, Captains, and overall pilots. Better min credit vs duty/rig. I also would like to see the 2 hour extension denial being an automatic fatigue report replaced but it is what it is.

interesting times nonetheless.

Trip touching is excellent! But at this pace, I don't think most of the pilot group will even get two primary vacations awarded. I am open to seeing what PBS is going to look like.

And yes, LCA pay needs to be up quite a bit...

There's this sentiment from part of the pilot group that PBS will absolutely destroy the airline and that ALL QOL (what little there is) will be killed by adding PBS. The only way that will come to pass is if the working rules that are negotiated with the implementation of PBS are garbage rules. Yes, trip-touching will go away. No, that is not the end all and be all of our contract. The negotiating committee will have to negiotate something similar to trip-touching or it's equivalent. That HAS to be done along with realistic implementation timelines, with drastic consequences for not meeting those deadlines.

I personally believe that the pilot group will not see a new contract if there is such a hardline stance on not getting PBS. The company has hitched its wagon to PBS and I do not see them un-hitching it, unless the pay rates are substantially less than industry-leading.

I guess the PBS study is complete. I don’t recall any communication stating that but they’ve agreed on terms and it’s going to the MEC for a vote. The brevity and lack of detail in the email has me scratching my head a little. No bullet points? No highlights? Nothing. No information other than the MEC will vote on it next week. Shouldn’t we be given some shred of information before the MEC votes?

Spent several years at ZW. Current airline has PBS. My absolute worst seniority PBS month was better than any schedule I ever got at ZW.

I understand the pain of losing trip touching but it made non vacation months schedules wayyyyyyy better for me from 100%-40% seniority.

it is all about the parameters you use and the guard rails you put on the company.

Not advocating for either one, not my circus anymore, but anecdotally PBS doesn’t have to equal bad.

The TA has to be reviewed by the MEC CA and FO reps) then they’ll vote whether to send it out
to the pilot group to vote for ratification.
process may take a month or so

But typically they’ll release bullet points right away before the MEC vote so that the pilot group can direct comments and questions to the MEC so they can (hopefully) vote accordingly.

Guy I’m flying with this trip over at PDT is trying to tell me AW lost the AA contract. True?

Five-year capacity agreement flying for American Airlines starting in March 2023”

If they did it would have to be for cause, from a gross breach of contract.

and how much credibility does he have? If they lost the agreement, people would have known by now.
sometimes it irritates me to hear how stupid people are spreading baseless rumors.
