Are you talking about Airman trainees? They have no ability to go through the grievance process since they are not represented by a union.

Don’t expect any immediate results. Our volunteers work tirelessly but the process to actually get in front of an arbitrator can take forever due to scheduling conflicts and feet dragging. Some things, where an exact dollar amount of damage can be successfully found out (IE you picked up a critical trip but it only paid out at 1.5 and for whatever reason the payroll discrepancy was denied) you might get your money. For other things (305 captains comes to mind) where they will say “well, so and so could’ve decided to take this upgrade instead of you, so we can’t tell who was financially hurt and how much”, don’t expect any sort of personal restitution. Those sorts of things can affect how the arbitrator looks and interprets company actions down the road though.

TLDR; Unless it’s very straightforward don’t expect much or that it will happen quickly. That isn’t to say holding people accountable isn’t worthwhile, but don’t expect to file a grievance and get immediate gratification.

Yea, I just realized I posted this in the Airman Trainee thread and not the "How's it going out there" thread. I understand there may be some delays, but I'm really looking for a step-by-step this is what happens when we appeal, etc.. I've read the section of the contract, but I'm being told my interpretation is incorrect.... very likely, but hoping to get someone else's perspective of how it reads.

Your best bet is to call the Grievance committee chair, JA. His number should be in the alpa directory included in every pay day hotline. Great guy, very responsive and informative.

Who told you that your interpretation was incorrect that led you to ask a question like that on a forum? As DarkSideMoon said above, call the grievance chairman. He can tell you better than anyone and I've never had an problemgproblem a straight answer from him.
