Reserve times

Upgrade times seem to be coming down according to the forum. How about reserve? How is it looking for a new FO that would like ORD out of training?

Hard to say until after the CAE realignment.

CAE Jr Base?

Does it look like CAE is going to be Junior now? I have an interview date in August and was curious. If hired, I'd like to be in ORD or MKE and was wondering how long it would take to get either of those. Cheers!

It's hard to say whether CAE or MKE will be more junior but you should be able to hold MKE right out of training with little to no reserve time.

ORD

So is ORD as a new hire looking bleak at this point, with the 2 outstation bases?

Roverruckus 07-31-2018 04:31 PM

It's still the biggest base and will probably grow back a bit once CAE is established, it might take a few months + longer reserve maybe for ORD, it's hard to say. I'll just say any one coming for IAD should probably look elsewhere.

If you want MKE, you will probably still get it. Even if you are initially assigned CAE during your first bid in training, by the time training is done you can probably bid back to MKE. ORD will take longer.

Upgrade times are only coming down because most people already here do not want to make a two leg commute. There are currently 4-5 year FO's bypassing the upgrade. ORD and IAD realignments are going to result in the most junior line holding captains in the 10-14 year seniority range.

Any chance we can put some numbers to this yet? If one is able to get ORD out of training, what’s the reserve time looking like? Both MKE and CAE would be 2 leg commutes for me, and the prospect of losing a day on both ends is not appealing, even with the bonus $.

Class seniority is based on Age, correct? What's class seniority looking like for a dude at 45 looking for ORD?
