Air Wisconsin Class Date!!
With the grievance in the pilots favor thus far, anybody got an idea of whats to come of a next class date? Any news comin out of ATW? I was told march 19 about a month ago. Assuming this will slow attrition, my guess is itll be later than sooner.

No idea. We've got a week until the arbitrator's deadline for a "remedy". No telling what the company and ALPA are going to agree to, but finally the pilot group is negotiating from a position of strength. I've heard some pretty good rumors/conspiracy theories about how that all might shake down...but we'll find out soon enough. Even though reserves still aren't getting used much right now, my guess is if we get the 2001 workrules back we will need to hire due to time away from base and duty time limits.
In other news, people slowly continue to interview and leave...and there are a few FOs making lateral moves to other regionals like RAH and SKW.

As far as i know it is going to be March 19th. Now don't hold it to me. I have a budy whos training for the 767 cap. at US Air, and he went in and talk to the fleet manager of AWAC. According to him, the 767 cap, the fleet manager said that march 19th is a firm date, but he hasnt notified managment yet. I won't believe anything till i get the call from Sara.

That would be the smart thing to do... If you guys seriously want to work at AWAC, be prepared to sit rsv for a looong time... If that's not your cup of tea, you may want to consider elsewhere at this time...

Indeed... I heard that 8 months ago... Then the Midwest "mass exidous" that never happened... Then the grievance (which I am glad the pilots won by the way) but won't lead to the attrition that was previously expected... Good for the pilots that will get backpay- but bad for the rsv's and people waiting for classes. It's important not to misconstrue this as complaining. If I were truly unhappy I would have left the company. These people just wanted to know opinions on how these things will affect their future and I offered mine.
Still I realize that it can't last FOREVER and you'll note that I included "at this time..." in my previous post...

Yeah things will start moving but as for people speculating about a mass exodus, "the next movement", etc. Nothing is going to happen until people have a place to go. A Captain isn't going to say "We lost Midwest.... I'll show AWAC I'm putting my 2 weeks in." Places are hiring right now, but it is slow. Also, there are a lot of people that want to stay here until they either have to leave or retire. Mortgages, bills, and the golden handcuffs have a lot of people not wanting to leave.
I know a couple FO's that have left for ASA, Skywest, Republic, and one that is waiting on a training date for a corporate gig but I think that is where most of the movement is right now besides the 10 or so Capts. a month.
