ExpressJet does appear to be United's new golden boy. United owns a minority share in the company, arranging 25 new E-175's to replace their old 145's (I don't like those 145's either), brokering a deal with Skywest (the big kid on the block) to have Skywest sell some 200's to XJT and Skywest gets first shot at more 70+ seat A/C (if Scope is ever opened up). XJT pilots are now being guaranteed 25% of each United new hire class through CPP. That's a strong investment from United. 2 years ago, XJT people were worried if they would just be sold into oblivion, now they seem to have a real future.

Trolling or not ... the last 6-8 months have opened up XJT like never before.

They can get 12-25 person classes through Indoc and Systems fairly efficiently, but Cockpit procedures and Sim is still the choke point. Yes, there is a 2 week to 2 month lag between Systems and Cockpit Procedures. They are already running those sims some 20 hours a day between new hire and recurrent sessions. Many recurrent people are on the 10p-2a time slot just to work around new hires. They only have so many machines, teachers, and hours in the day. Start to finish ... 4-5 months.
For clarity, I believe you mean “they are getting people into an Indoc class 1-3 months from receiving a conditional job offer (CJO).”

Date of Hire for seniority purposes is the day you start Indoc.

Any update on this issue? Hearing grumblings from a few friends waiting for sims expect 4-5months now start to finish. Hoping this is not true, AW is where I’d like to be but the news of delay is somewhat discouraging. Any info to rebut these claims would be good to hear.

Two things I’ve heard recently directly from new hires on reserve.

Guy 1: Had two delays - a 4 week delay from systems to CPT. And 2 week delay Checkride to first IOE trip.

Guy 2: 4.5 months from doh to finishing IOE BUT he said he needed extra sims and extra IOE so that could account for some of that 4.5 months not just because of the extra time that takes but also the delays for scheduling the sims when you go over the planned footprint. Didn’t say how many extra sims or how long the delay for that was and didn’t say how many extra IOE trips.

Also hearing from a sim instructor that they are leasing much more sim time now - some of that is due to the FAA mandated high altitude training that will be added to recurrent (2 days to 3 days now). But that the amount they are leasing seems above just that alone. So not sure if that is an attempt to speed up things in initial.

So yeah totally possible 4-5 months but how much of that is new hires needing extra sims/IOE and how much is delay/back ups in scheduling? I think a bit of both.

Also we are desperately short on CA and have been for months. FOs, other than a few days each month during intergration, have been either well staffed or just barely staffed during that same period so it’s plausible there is a priority on sims and LCA to the upgrades right now. Just my theory- got nothing to back it up other than common sense.

Well, hopefully this will change but I’m sure it won’t....especially since there aren’t as many 200 sims as I’ve been reading on other forums. Tragedy.

Default When should I expect the call from AWAC?

I've recently received CJO in early February. Background checks and drug test (I haven't got any call from the drug test company, So I'm assuming that it's completed) are completed.

My class date is in mid-May.
I've tried to contact AWAC pilot recruiting group but they didn't answer my call. I'm trying to purchasing a house as well and need the confirmation for all contingency has been met. Is this normal not getting any call from HR?

I'm planning on moving before starting the class but this makes me worry a bit.
