My summary of Training in 1 Sentence

"Here is a 13,000 page book. Half of it is boxed. Know those parts rote by tomorrow morning. You don't need to memorize the rest by then, but have a strong working knowledge of it. Good luck."

I know that was five sentences. But honestly, the people are nice, the memorization requirements on the a/c are like nothing I've ever experienced. Any tips on knowing all the required info?

Flash cards. It’s doable. I’m not the sharpest crayon and yet here I am.

We once had more memory items than what you have today. Had to know the IAC verbatim and all limitations. Had to have basic systems knowledge.
I’m not very smart either and yet I still got through training.

Flash cards.

As far as boxed vs unboxed, think of the boxed items as sudden death in the oral. You don’t know the flaps 8 extension speed? You’re toast. You accidentally say the positive g limit flaps 0 is 3? You’ll probably be OK if you didn’t miss a bunch of other stuff too.

It's not a 'training department.' It's a 'testing and evaluating department.' Keep than in mind and you'll be ok.
... Dumber people than you have made it, myself included.

I promise you that when you leave ZW you will never experience training like that again. You won’t realize until you’re gone what a complete and utter joke that department is. Could also be said about scheduling. Dealing with those two departments I didn’t even feel human during my tenure there.

ZW notoriously has some of the most stringent training g in the industry. Some of that is good, some bad. Take it for what it is.
Study a lot. Get in groups. Quiz each other.
When I went through (well over a decade ago) the Dir of Training literally came into our new hire class on Day 2 and said, “Flush your lives down the toilet for the next two weeks because the only thing you should be doing is studying.”
Every airline you work at from here forward will be refreshingly easy.

I’m guessing they don’t do that with FA’s...
