The amount you will receive will bring you up to the 47% mark or state maximum whichever is lower. If you receive any benefit you are eligible to receive the $600 weekly government check. For just about every FO that will be more than ZW pays.
There is a special exemption if your hours are voluntarily reduced due to the downturn caused by covid.

I find it amazing how uneducated people are too, especially when they throw that insult out without having any idea what they are talking about.
It is also amazing to think that everyone that works for a company in wisconsin lives in illinois. Way to call everyone else UNdeREduCat3d. We all pull the same gear lever.

look at your pay statement. On the top under where it says pay group what location does it say? Unemployment is payed to work location state. Since I know you are old and can’t figure out technology if you are using your phone make sure you switch to desktop view otherwise it won’t show.

Unemployment is based on your domicile location. Do some research before you start calling people uneducated.

I'd like to mention that in Wisconsin, this is not the case. In Wisconsin if you had the opportunity to work, but did not, you are ineligible. Taking the LOA and claiming unemployment there is at best a grey area, and at worst completely illegal. Illinois is probably different though.

You obviously don't know what union representatives do. Not only can they make those decisions, they are elected with the responsibility to make those decisions for us including LOAs. I don't like every decision they make, but they have to look out for all the pilots on property.

This sounds like the argument from the "entitled" generation of pilots where airlines were paying ridiculous amounts of money to hire pilot that meet the minimum requirements. I'm afraid that over inflated some egos.

You aren't owed anything. If you like the Flight Attendants working rules more, go join them and take all of their rules along with it.

I don't see how this is even an issue. The company is giving people the option to take reduced pay for a month off. No one is being forced to do this. There is literally no downside if you choose not to participate...

I agree with your points about this LOA but stop with the newbie blaming. I’ve run into just as many negative crusty old people as I have entitled new people. When I’m sitting in the left seat, I much prefer the newbies because they’re moldable and relatively standard. Most of the ones I’ve worked with are just happy to be here and understand that they had it better than most. We’re all in this together, don’t turn it into a contest over who had it worse.

I agree with your overall sentiment and I have worked with grateful new guys as well as angry old guys too. It was more of a reflection of previous comments with a lack of understanding of the structure in place along with the attitude of entitlement. That being said, I see your point.

PUA is not for people under traditional unemployment. It is for people who are in gig-economy who lose their job, along with other people listed in that document. Even so, the last category would seem to exclude anyone taking the Leave. I'd be very cautious to take this if you are Milwaukee based and expecting to get the unemployment.
