Default Seriously. Another LOA

Why does alpa continue to think it is acceptable to put these LOAs out overnight without input from the pilot group?

Are we not union brothers and sisters? This is unacceptable.

Its voluntary, calm down. Not to mention if you want this It will allow you to qualify for unemployment. If you don’t want it don’t take it.

Because it's part of the job they were elected to do? If you can do better, go get voted in for a position. I'd rather have them instead of a hothead like you that just wants to to stir up drama for negative attention. From what I've heard, this was not done "overnight." It's completely voluntary so don't take it if you don't want it but don't trash it to try to get people fired up over nothing.

"The MEC was asked by the Company to extend the reduced line guarantee but the MEC declined to enter into that agreement."
That's pretty important as well but sure, just try to shine a negative light on an loa and email that hurts absolutely no one. We would all be a lot better off if pilots didn't search for negativity even when there is none to be had. "Union brothers and sisters" you say? Act like one! Support the rest of the pilot group. Go volunteer your time to help make things better instead of hiding behind a keyboard. I talk to my reps and I would not want the jobs that they have - especially right now.

You can’t voluntarily take a leave of absence while still getting paid and also collect unemployment. Your statement sums up how uneducated people are on all of this. Good luck.

Depending what you make on your reduced rate and what state you are in, you may actually be eligible. You are just an angry human being. I feel sorry for you.

What's wrong with this LOA? Seems pretty standard to me. And we are back up to 75 hours in June.

Seems like you just want to be back to high credit every month, which I hear ya brother, but its not ALPAs fault.

Nothing at all. We are just unfortunate to have a handful of pilots that enjoy using this platform as a way to bring others down to their level of unwarranted misery. You could give them all United 777 Captain pay and they would jump on here trying to get people mad by saying we "deserve" $5/hour more and an extra week of vacation to go with it. I'm not sure where this sense of entitlement comes from, but they are in for a rude awakening when the world shows them that their position as a regional pilot doesn't make them better than anyone else in the world.

yes you can, look up Illinois unemployment. It is based on the prior 2 quarters of income. Your weekly unemployment benefit is 47% of your average over the last 2 quarters. If you are “underemployed” and the total of your current income is less than 47% of your average you are eligible to file for unemployment. The amount you will receive will bring you up to the 47% mark or state maximum whichever is lower. If you receive any benefit you are eligible to receive the $600 weekly government check. For just about every FO that will be more than ZW pays.
There is a special exemption if your hours are voluntarily reduced due to the downturn caused by covid.

I find it amazing how uneducated people are too, especially when they throw that insult out without having any idea what they are talking about.

Thats how blind some of you are. We are back up to 75 hours until the union sends another LOA with no input from the pilots. Our flight attendants didn’t reduce their guarantee.
