And United is maxed out on large regional jets so AW will have to take the flying from someone. And if AW gets a contract with another carrier, they are no longer UA dedicated and out the door goes Aviate, right?

I think that United wants the 70/76 seat flying to be done by the 175’s, and for the 700’s to be converted to 550’s. If Air Wisconsin were to fly the 550 exclusively for United, nothing would change. If Air Wisconsin does pick up a contract with another airline, their future with Aviate would probably depend on how the flying was staffed. Mesa doesn’t fly exclusively for United, but from what I understand, their pilots either exclusively fly for AA, or UA. If a Mesa pilot bids to an AA base, they no longer qualify for the program. SkyWest and Republic don’t want to give up the efficiency gained by allowing pilots to cover all contracted flights, so they are not in the program. United has been pretty open about wanting Aviate to attract pilots to their regional feed, not the competition.

I don’t really buy into the rumors but why is there a few of Mesa -900s sitting in GTF? The black tail LR bird is sitting in a heavy maintenance facility’s parking lot (AvMax), and N326MS is parked at a different FBO down the way. Flightaware data shows it flew and parked there 6 days ago. Maybe something’s up? Either way, hope it works out for you Wisconsin guys.

interesting, my dad is a a&p at ORD, he snapped photos of this plane in its Lufthansa livery a few months back. It passed though ORD on its way over from Germany to get to Tucson. Previous D-ACKL. Sorry not a wiz on this format or I’d upload the pictures he sent me.

correct, they have to have physical possession of one to add it to the certificate. What’s interesting here though is that the 700 kept its Elite Airways registration. This one is in the AW tail number theme. Where 405AW is the first in our -200 fleet numbers, if one wants to really read into this, 305AW implies the first in a -900 fleet. Or it’s a coincidence and we will be getting Expressjet’d in a couple years when we shut this place down…either are possible. At this point I’ve stressed enough and it’ll be what it’ll be.
