4/26 class here. I was told the same. I’ve also heard differing opinions on preparation though. From what I’ve seen, it’s about a 50/50 split between those who will tell you not to jump ahead because they will teach you the material in the order they want you to learn it, and those who will tell you to go on quizlet and start studying limitations, flows, and memory items weeks in advance. I’ve started reviewing the limitations so far but that’s about it. Would like to hear some more opinions on this

no. Just study for the ATP written if you still have to do that. If not, get your affairs at home in order so you can focus on training. Learn things the way the company wants you to learn them. I appreciate the willingness to get ahead, but unlearning something you memorized because of a lack of context is even harder. It’s doable, just trust the process. Do the homework you get sent home with each day with the class, and then flash cards for memory items and limitations.

I personally enjoyed the downtown hotel... Dive bars yards away plus the creepy sports bar in the lobby and the underground pool/gym made for some eventful group study sessions. If I recall correctly the mall has a brewery/restaurant that was worth a visit (Fox River, maybe?). One guy in my class had a car, an asset that proved invaluable for grocery trips and general travel when necessary. Strongly encourage bringing one of you have the means.

Also, check the schedule for the Curling club downtown. Drinking PBR with the locals while they tried to teach us to sling rocks is still one of my fondest memories.

Indoc and Systems are easy. Study CPT like mad. Had several classmates make it all the way to CPT and bombed. They were given 2nd chances and still Bombed. CPT you must have down pat. Flows and calls. No mistakes. No excuses. It will also make sims that much easier. Remember ZW has very high standards in the Sims. 5000 hour corporate pilots bombed the sims at ZW due to their unnatural inability to fly and do CPT correctly. Don't worry about Indoc or Systems. Get your $%^& in gear for CPT. You can buy me a beer later.

That hotel is used at OO for overnights, and you’re right I loved that hotel and saw some of you guys roaming around. Definitely a nice set up for training.

I was told the visiting team playing the Green Bay Packers stays at that hotel as well?

they do, which must be a let down as an NFL player. The area is great. Home Burger Bar’s breakfast burger and karaoke on the weekends. The Ambassador for craft cocktails, and Cleo’s for a good old fashioned WI local hangout.

Don't study ahead. A lot of stuff on quizlet is outdated. New limitations have been added and some are no longer boxed. IAC is different. FOM is different.

Trust me you don't want to have to unlearn crap you learned the wrong way.

The training is tough, but if you have a good attitude and make sure you're teachable you'll make it through. Study your butt off after class. Be humble and be a sponge.

I made it through, you can too!

If you think the NFL guys stay in the same types of rooms we stayed you're smoking some stuff I'd like to hit as well!

They stay in the exact same rooms we have, they were even right next to us one time with all the Gatorade bottles in the hallway.

when it comes to training, be a sponge but realize that every instructor will care about something else the previous instructors don’t even mention. Be prepared to cooperate to graduate and be ready to master whatever things each and every instructor will care about.

I stand corrected. I could have sworn the rooms were different with keyed access to the specific floors.
