Default New hire here starting in July

Hello Everyone!

I have a class date in July. I was wondering if there is any advice you all have to be successful? This will be my 2nd 121 job. I see Indoc is 2 weeks in Appleton. Then two weeks of systems. Do you get a break in between at all or do they have you go right into systems? Then I hear it’s CPT’s. How long is CPT’s? Are they in Appleton as well? Then on to sims. What domicile is the quickest to get off reserve and get a line? It looks like all three domiciles are commutable. Do you guys still have airport reserve? If you do how long is an airport reserve shift? Are there any cool overnights? Does anyone have a route map for the company? When it comes to IOE are there any line check airman that you would avoid? (If you could pm me that answer it would be greatly appreciated) I appreciate all the help and insight!

Thanks again,
Duckman

Indoc and systems are back to back, there may be a gap before cpt. Right now IAD is junior on FO side, maybe 1 month if airport ready reserve. Quickest line will be IAD, with the hiring going on right now I would guess 3-5 months then a line in IAD. It doesn’t matter what LCA you get, you don’t have a choice, do the job and cooperate to graduate.

Welcome to AW! It's gonna be great to have you aboard! Every question you've asked has been answered in the other hiring threads in this forum. Not much in that aspect has changed in the last 2 years.

seems like he didn’t ask any questions during the interview.
That was your golden opportunity to get answers to all your questions.

Cool overnights ?
32 hours in Fargo sound appealing?
20 hours in Appleton Wisconsin gives you a woodie?
19 hours in Flint Mi do it for ya?
Or 4 hour sits in Duluth Mn or Huntsville Al between legs ?
is that cool enough for you?
Lca’s to avoid ?
Really ?
You won’t have a say so over that . Just do your job and know how to fly and you wont have Sh!t to worry about.

Back to back.

5 days I believe.Some ATL some ATW.

Really depends on timing. Probably MKE or IAD. Look at who the most junior is in each base when you start to bid.

Yes. 8 hours. Basically the bottom 6 people on the list in each domicile get it. You can’t be assigned it if you bid for a regular reserve line.

LNK, TVC, ATW are all pretty enjoyable. Nothing crazy.

It changes pretty frequently. There used to be one on the website, not sure if it’s up to date or even still there.

No, and try to distance yourself from that attitude in general here, whether in sim or on OE. Do what they tell you to do and have a good attitude and you’ll be fine.

Things constantly change as we have seen due to Covid. There were some very new people conducting the interview. But I did have plenty of questions answered. I just didn’t have them all answered.

It’s definitely what you make of it. The last airline I worked at had some salty LCA and if you talked to scheduling they would assign you someone else. But I appreciate the info!
Cheers,
