One airplane is not enough to hold off the airline if UA dumps the 50 seat jets. And to transform all the others… long time. There best bet is to bid on the 29 city's OO is leaving under prorate. If they ZW has the aircraft and staffing to pull it off..

At 15 pilots/plane we only have staffing for 36 planes. Even fewer if you only count CAs/ plane. I dont think we'll be adding flying any time soon.

With mainline focusing on developing their wholly owned regional partners, my guess is the independent regionals are recognizing the need to diversify their revenue streams. Air Wisconsin with Cargo. Mesa with DHL Cargo. Skywest with a 135 operation. This probably won't be the last we see of these "creative ideas". Just a guess from somebody who is not a business CEO.
