AW bringing back CRJ200's for AA Flying

AW is bringing back 10 CRJ200's to fly 10 routes out of ORD for American Airlines:

You have to hand it to the owners of Air Whiskey for extracting more profit out of these ancient tundra turds than any other operator. Every time it looks like they are about to have to either shut down or finally change aircraft type they pull a rabbit out of the hat. It's extraordinary.

When I was there, they wanted bigger planes but there was no place to put them. United wants to do away with 50 seaters. But AW can’t get 70 seaters due to the scope clause in the UA’s pilot contract. So AW had no choice but to go back to AA. This will give them the opportunity to start adding larger aircraft. They didn’t have this opportunity with UA.
You can’t go to other carriers like Skywest, Republic or Mesa and make them ground 20 planes each to accommodate AW flying bigger planes. AW always finds a rabbit to pull out of their hats. Loved my time there. It was the most professional pilot group I’ve ever worked with and I wish them nothing but the very best.

AA CRJs

Have there been any big route changes with the AA flying? Any new cities added or old ones being dropped from UA?

When I was there they were parking the D328 and 146. Then slashed the 150 orders for the 200 down to 70. Got a mug out of that one. THEN we got an email explaining how larger RJs were a "band-aid" on the industry and AWAC didn't see a future in them. They literally called them Band-aids.

Now they scrounge to find scraps to keep them out of the scrap yard.

Yeah, have to hand it to them. They're geniuses.

How's the AA flying going?

Looks like all AA flying now, no more UAL. What's your experience as a ZW pilot? Inquiring minds want to know. For those of us waiting to live your experience, how about a detailed trip report? That would be cool. Thanks in advance.

I flew the d-328 there in 98, we had 4 crj 200’s and none on order.

I resigned and caught another job with a 41% pay bump and less stress. Air Wisconsin doesn't have the routes they had with United Express. Many of the people in my class are sitting on Ready Reserve out of Dayton and Milwaukee. When they closed Dulles, all those people took the more senior slots at the other bases. I was on the line and when I left, I was lucky to get one or two days a month. Less than 10 hours a month. The rest of the time, sitting at the airport. I think AW is making this American partnership more than it really is. They overhired FO's and now they are cutting some from training. Honestly, they do a great job of not letting people think they are hanging on by a thread, but I think that is exactly the case. Too many FO's, industry minimum on pay, and you're stuck on reserve, so you aren't making any more than they're $60.90 per hour at the monthly minimum. If you are thinking about coming to this airline, caveat emptor (may the buyer beware).

This is literally any regional now. Too many FOs. Can’t staff for lack of captains. No flying. Endless reserve.

CRJ700's?

Has there been any progress or updates on adding the CRJ700's to the fleet?
