Question about Air Wisconsin
Hey,
Anyone have any hiring info on AWAC? I know their published hiring mins are apx 1000 TT and 250 ME. Their pay is very decent for the regionals. Anyone know if they hire below mins? At the end of the school year I should have about 600 TT and 150 ME - Possibly more TT if my student load increases...
Does anyone have any info on their SIM eval @ the interview, and how the whole interview schpeel goes? I have looked on willflyforfood.com and it hasn't been updated since May '04...so not much help there. Thanks in advance for the input/advice.
Oh...one more question...is this an airline worth looking into?

They will hire below mins. If you can find somone to walk your resume in you'd have a better chance, however they hired a few CFI's in my class with 1200 TT and 100 multi, so with more multi you should have a better chance. Even with your time now, you might be looked at, and they will continue hiring after January in even greater numbers, so you'll have a real good chance of getting an interview.
Sim eval is a PIECE OF CAKE. Do the prep the day before ($60) - it's the exact sim in almost the identical profile. It's almost like cheating lol. In the phone interview they even give you the name and number for the place to do the prep.
www.aviationinterviews.com is the best interview site there is IMO. They are always up to date.
AWAC is a great company. Upgrades are around 3.5-4 years right now - so if you're looking for quick upgrade don't come here. If and when we get the old contract back second year f/o pay will be $39/hr for the CRJ 50-seater - which is industry leading...

Hey Fosters,
Checked out aviationinterviews and they seem to be hiring people with around my flight time 850tt 115 multi. and CFI . Do you know anything else about the company such as junior base? Time on reserve? Can you commute to the base? Thanks

Because of understaffing and the switch to US Air, the lines are hard to commute to. You can commute (just like any airline) but it'll be rough unless you're single. You'll definately need a crashpad if you're commuting.
No one knows time on reserve. It could be 1 month it could be 6 or more. Right now it seems like I'll spend 1-2 months on reserve. Who knows...

I'm not sure why I even bothered to reply to this, but please see my previous post.
PHL, DCA, and ORF will be/are the bases. Could that change? Yes, but not for the forseeable future. Don't come to AWAC *hoping* for another domicle. It just doesn't work like that.
If you want BOS, check out Eagle, I think they have a BOS base.
