If you have a steady influx of F/O’s, why did you raise the wage? SkyWest & Republic have a steady influx of F/O’s who’ve been diagnosed with “SJS” (Shinny Jet Syndrome) and neither have raised their rates.

They have plenty of FOs but no Captains so the planes are sitting. All the captains are leaving to higher paying positions. Some even a lateral move to Envoy or PSA

Thats not going to cut it in this environment.
PIC time isn’t necessary to move on to better things .

So why raise F/O wages if they have plenty on hand? Why not raise Captain wages instead? Something isn’t adding up here.

I’d think that the February deadline is the biggest motivator. It’s hard to blame people for seeking more stable employment when their only source of flying expires in 6 months.

To retain their current FO’s who are leaving for other regionals, and try an recruit a form of street captain. The ZW contract doesn’t allow for DEC.You have to be hired as an FO then if you meet the CA qualifications you can’t bid for CA once on property. Its all a last ditch effort to staff a dying airline in hopes they can maintain business. The company will shutdown in 8 months when the CPA expires. They have had the 700 on the cert for a year with no business for it. If UAL wanted to give them 550’s they would have by now. The freighter they purchased hasn’t gotten any business either. The company bet on the wrong plane. Was lucky to be saved when AA dropped them and UAL came to the rescue. They won’t be saved a second time. If you’re looking for a regional don’t go there. Go to a regional that has an aircraft that airlines actually want to fly. If you are there move on as soon as you can.

The doom and gloom talk of the airline shutting down has been going on since at least 2005 or so when United dropped them the first time. They’ve managed to survive almost 2 decades beyond that. I’m not saying I know what will happen in 2023 but I’m not scared. It could also be assumed the union knows something because they haven’t started another S.O.S. campaign. Only time will tell.

My guess , at best , is they will buy G7 or G7 will buy them . Other than that , it will be hard . Maybe they get some 700 flying for AA, that’s about it .
Whatever it is , they should inform the employees of future plans , or lack there of , so the employees can make decisions on their futures. They have families to take care of . All of this secrecy crap is old and not good business in my opinion.
At this point , I’m not sure I would put my faith in those numnuts in Atw, but do whatever you feel is best for you and your situation.

The denial runs strong in Appleton. The 700 has been on the cert for a year. No business for it. The freighter almost a year, No business for it either. UAL doesn’t want single class 50-seaters anymore. Kirby has said that numerous times. That isn’t good news for any airline who operates only the CRJ200 or the EMB-145. However United is spending money to update the 145’s. That should tell you something.
But you are correct time will tell. Most likely in December. WARN letters have to be sent 60 days in advance.

Interview
I have an interview with air wis coming up soon. I have heard that they are offering jobs on the spot. I am curious about the future of the company. The package they are offering is pretty good. 20K bonus and 60/hr with 75 hr guarantee. Not sure if its even worth it from what I’ve been seeing on here. Anybody here at the company have any insight? Im seeing that united might drop them soon? Im also wondering about how long it takes to get to the left seat.
