FYI - If you want to have control of your career and finish your training this might not be the place for you. From talking with other pilots who are working there it appears the flight department hired too many people and is not able to train them. Some have been sent home to "return" (but never were fit into the schedule) and others were told they had a job, but have been waiting for five months to get started (after quitting their current flight jobs).
Good company if you are online, but only if you make it to the line. I chose to go to start training for a different airline after hearing this information.

I know a guy who washed out of the training program a couple of years back under very shady circumstances. It's possible that he just washed out because he couldn't hack it, but he was a pretty trustworthy guy with no reason to lie to me about it...his stories left a bad taste in my mouth.

They have been pulling these shenanigans for years. Having pilots write their resignation letter on a napkin at a bar during training. Telling them "yeah go home and we will work you back in when we can and get you finished up" only to call them a couple days later and tell them to write their resignation.
The training department is good, BUT, a few of them have a superiority complex and work through the good ole boy network. Basically, do your best in training and don't make anyone mad at you or make a name for yourself.

Was the training started (ground school doesn't count) ?
Was the training completed.
There's your PRIA.
Unlike Timmay Martins at Eagle, and these examples, SkyWest (in the past) didn't bother with offering the resignation. Just canned.

I think AWAC was expecting a lot of attrition and since there has only been light to moderate attrition they have slammed on the brakes with the upgrades and new-hire training. I wouldn't really read too much more into it than that.
Attrition among senior crew members has been light, at best. The majors are not hiring (yet) and there have been a couple who left for FedEx and/or Atlas and JetBlue, but really not much else.
I still think there will be a lot of attrition, but it hasn't happened yet. The real majors are very nervous about fuel prices, and rightfully so. The training stoppage has as much to do with that as anything else IMHO.

I was pretty damn disappointed to say the least.....Had a great time in ATW with my indoc class, systems was fun and the sims were a blast. Had some good chats with a few from the pilot group....great pilots and instructors.
Guess it wasn't meant to be for me.....onward and upward.

I am sorry that happened to you. What is so wrong about this is that you came from another job somewhere else and most likely that opportunity has been filled. I hope you can get on at a better company soon!
