Perhaps. Or it's just AA's way of putting pressure on ZW management to accept a CPA (or buyout) they don't want. They can't exactly whipsaw us like they did their WOs, and they can't really ask for concessions now that they're throwing money at their own regionals.
Only other option is half your planes are returned to the lessors, and the other half are retained and operated under another 1-2 year extension.
It's unfortunate, but any positive planning is just a desire, all the negative options are just smart business.

How many airplanes have the WO added to their fleet in the last 2 years? Between the 900's and 175's, it has to be getting close to 80 already with more on the way. And those are 76 seat airplanes, not 50. So, they will be able to handle the capacity if they cut contracts with other carriers.

Man, honestly I think you're in denial. AWAC hasent signed a deal in over ten years, but they are "holding out" in the last 15 months? AA holds all the cards. 2 options I see are a merger with Mesa or PSA.

I haven't, but I don't see why you think your mgnt is playing games. They're in the same jam up spot the pilots are in. Neither party wants to reduce their take home pay in order to keep the machine moving. Your mgnt can't or won't negotiate for more, because they don't want to make less, just as your pilot group doesn't want to make less. RAH was able to sign a productive deal, and then flip the cost upstream. If your not in denial, and weren't hired before 2007 why are you still there?

Just confused at how union politics work. Is it a badge of honor to vote no, and then go get another job? Every old pilot I've ever talked to doesn't even vote if they have a small amount of time left. Why would they want to steer the ship if they won't be around. If they held another vote on the same deal, would it help recruiting or secure another CPA, or would if just be giving mgnt more money until the lights are turned out on the same day?
