It's not going 'sideways' when you go to another regional and get in the left seat after being in the right seat at your previous airline. This is when you're actually resume building.

wow, i didn't realize things were so grim at AWAC. You guys have a great group of crews and i hope you all find something better soon.

If any of you are thinking of PDT, we are gonna assign our unfilled captain positions to DECs after this current bid closes next week. Wouldn't be a bad option for AWACers that live in PHL, or if our rumored DCA/LGA base comes true.

PIC time Versus SIC? Take the PIC time and reserve and start shotgun blasting out your resume. Sounds better then being at a regional for 3-4 years as a FO before you can upgrade. Wish back in the day I had the options folks have today. Incredible what's going on.

Exactly. Our reserve isn't that bad either, as I did it as both an FO and CA for a total of 1.5 years. We don't have hot reserve or CDOs or any of that BS. I actually enjoyed the variety of the work and as both CA and FO, I flew quite a bit and built my time rather efficiently. I also commuted (2 legs) to reserve and it wasn't bad at all. On my last day I was able to get done early more often than not.

What's the reserve call out time at PDT? 2 hours?

It's pretty sad that everyone's jumping ship. Even had a 17 year CA leave for Atlas.
FOs making lateral moves to the wholly owneds and management is just sitting back and watching this kind of sends out the message that they just don't care. Our CEO has destroyed 2 other airlines so looks like we will be number three. My advice is to anyone who wants to come here, think twice. Most of our new hires are not making it through training and CAs and FOs are leaving as well.
What has management done about this? Not a damn thing.
Writing is on the wall. I feel really bad for our senior guys who've been here 20 plus years and are in their late 50's and early 60's.
I'm just grateful everyone's hiring

Long time senior captains are also finally dusting off their logbooks and resumes. I've had a few ask for letters of rec for my legacy just this past week.
