Your future is not uncertain. It just hasn't been disclosed.

This place has had an "uncertain" future forever. Before we were sold in 1993, UAL basically just said they were going to shut the doors. In 2005, we had zero flying planned. I understand that the regional landscape is changing and this airline could literally close 100% in a short period of time. The point I want to make is that most of the pilots here DO NOT CARE.

Do people think we sit there in the cockpit biting our finger nails saying "Oh my gosh what am I gonna do?!?".. No. We don't.

The environment in my base and with the range of guys I fly with (top 20% in base) don't care about this "uncertainty". The same goes for the occasional junior capt I fly with. So, trust me, you're not hurting our feelings when you sit there and preach behind your keyboard that the "writing is on the wall".

+1 for another awac pilot that does not give a rats ass if the doors shut. My backup plan is to move go be a garbage truck driver, they make more money and deal with less sh!t.

+1 BT and Moonwolf...and philosophic words from Mason

And to add...49 years running and the 2nd oldest U.S. airline NOT to declare bankruptcy...which means instead of chasing the next available flying...they make agreements that will sustain them for multiple years....this is why we don't care about the flamers

Plus 1 here too. Don't care.

It's interesting how company keeps pitching a quick 2 year "cost neutral" deal...they must be trying to cost something

Isn't republic get 30+ e175s
Just read the Republic thread. They ARE getting those -175s, but they are parking -140/145s and -190s...sounds like they will be neutral on total aircraft numbers...+ they can't staff additional airframes, anyway.

Isn't PSA getting 30+ crj900 aircraft
That may be the plan...but can they staff them???

Haha...how long have u worked here homie? I'm gonna go with max 2 yrs, prob less right? I bet you r the cat who drops off all the aopa and alpa mags in the cockpit too? Make it a point to get your grocery shopping done in your uni too I bet? I know what our contract says, I have worked under it since 2006. I certainly don't need someone who refers to these pos airplanes as "birds" to hit the bullet points for me. The reply I made was in regard to a single dude, much like yourself I bet, who in an effort to feel better about his sheety career outlook at Awac, left out many of the negatives associated with this joint. I didnt say Awac is the worst place in the world currently. I just wouldn't hold my breath on its future. Hope we get to fly together in the future, it would be a great time I'm sure...esp for u.

JT, I look forward to the next time we are in the cockpit together. It will be fun.

Ok great, make sure you introduce yourself as fl451. That way we make sure we get off on the right foot. We could talk about how great our contract is and take turns patting each other on the back...what's hilarious is you said again. That means it has already taken place and I can guarantee u that you prob were not quite as quick with your wit when you didn't have the internet between us right?
