They had 274 50's at one point. Down to around 100 now. I'm thinking United wants to establish their own dedicated feeders like Delta and AA have.

Youll need two options to get to work and the second option needs to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your check in. If neither of them work you may have a turn dropped or something until you can get back into your trip or the company will positive space you depending on their needs.

There's no doubt in my mind United wants its own wholly-owns. It's only a matter of time before all of the legacies operate their entire operations from top to bottom.

Everyone wants you to succeed (including us on here). To those of you who are joining our team, welcome and enjoy ATW.

I do feel a need to reiterate this though; although we are hurting for pilots, we are in no way compromising our standards. Come here with the attitude "they'll pass me no matter what" and you may as well not even unpack your suitcase. Study, put in the effort, use your resources, and you'll be fine!
Ive heard the airwis training is brutal, not as bad as piedmont but its tough.Alot of limitations and memory items and alot of useless bs they want you to remember..Any truth to the single engine non precision hand flown approaches down to mins in the sim? Fact or fiction.
I know pdt does that garbage, not sure about wiz.

Brutal? Garbage?
I'm six weeks into AW’s training (from another regional) and my experience is anything but brutal or garbage. In fact, the instructors, new and experienced, have been professional, competent and helpful.

All the classes, requirements, expectations, memory items, etc. have been reasonable. Completion standards would be expected of any pilot who wants to fly the general public for a living. AW has some terminology they use that is more wordy than I think necessary, but it's their sandbox and it's the way they do it.

Starting sims in a couple of days. Just talked with two friends that are in the middle of sims now. No complaints of anything unreasonable, overly difficult. I hope we do get a good number of SE NP approaches to fly by hand. Why would I not want that? Isn't that what the sim is for, training for situations, especially emergency/SE situations?

Not sure what your concern would be about hand flying an approach. You posted in March:

"I handfly whenever possible, whenever I want. When I brief the arrival-approach I'll tell them the ap is coming off at this fix or dme or whatever and as long as you know what you're doing it shouldn't be an issue. Once handflew from little Rock to clt when the FMS and ap failed.Hand flying in green needles.Lots of fun.
You need to do it to stay sharp so when you have to do it you can.”

and

"In my opinion, pilots nowadays are too dependant on automation."

If you can't handfly that, you probably shouldn't be in 121.

It's a requirement at all airlines, as well as by the FAA, if you can't do that in the real world anyways, you should maybe find a new career.

Training is brutal here. Instructors will hit you, yell and you and berate you. If you do something really stupid, they'll pour sulphuric acid on your genitals or give you electric shock to your genitals.
Expect a few black eyes and some broken bones.
Now, in all seriousness. The instructors are there for you. They want you to pass and do well. It's a reflection on them. What you need to do is stop worrying about the hand held single engine non precision approaches. Nail them during your sim lessons and it'll be a piece of cake on your type ride.
Instead of worrying about **** you hear, come in with a positive attitude and be well prepared. Know your flows, limitations, memory items, call outs and profiles and procedures. That's 90% of your battle. The flying part, will come. And the instructors will give you good oral prep.
If the examiner is digging deep on the oral, he or she is trying to get you through. If you have strong knowledge of a system, they'll ask some questions and move on. It's like driving your car. You have to know a little bit about the features before you can use them.
Same concept with the plane.
It's not hard at all. It's just a lot of work. If you're willing to put the work in, great! Come aboard and we'd love to have you. If your attitude sucks and you don't want to put in the work, we don't want or need you. Besides they'll weed those out anyway.
Just my $.02
Take it for what it's worth
