Guys with prior121 time multiple type ratings etc.He said the training there is horrible. They dont train you, they just evaluate you he said.

That was the Dash Training. The Jet program is great. Last class everyone passed except one guy who's stick and rudder wasn't up to par. It's night and day from a few years ago.

Norfolk is not a market that is a good fit for 50-seat aircraft over the long term within our UAX network.
I had a feeling ORF would get the axe with the new United system. Sounds like it will stay a crew/mx base until February when AA flying is done.

I have an interview with Air Wisconsin coming up. If somebody can provide me some information I would greatly appreciate.

What does the schedule look like for junior FOs after the period in reserve is over? For example 5 day trips followed by 3 days off or is there a possibility to have six or seven days off in a row followed by longer trips?

I live in Albuquerque NM. Is it realistic to commute from ABQ to the AW hubs?

How long is the training and IOE?

Where does the training take place?

Thanks so much

This thread is mostly *****ing. Good information is HERE. As far as commuting through Albuquerque, take a look at www.passrider.com to see how many options you have to either ORD or IAD.

Once you get off reserve lines range from great to terrible. It all depends on what you want/expect/need. We don't know yet what united lines will look like but generally speaking, as a junior fo expect 12-13 days off, high block/credit/, and not commutable. Lines improve drastically with seniority.

As far as reserve. Expect 5 on 3 off. Maybe 4/2. You can move your days around pending scheduling approval(ya right) so you could feasibly do 6 on 4 off.

Abq to ord/iad...define realistic? All things are possible with God so the Bible says. Rumors of a Denver and Houston base but don't base decisions of rumors. Ever.

Training is in appleton, wi. Yes,the same Appleton that last year was awarded drunkest city in the united states. 4 weeks of classroom. Week of cpt in Milwaukee. And then 2 weeks or so of sim. Right now the sim is in Charlotte but that will change soon. I've heard cvg and stl. Ioe takes however long you need. Some do minimum of 25 hours. Some do about 150 hours before c.s. says you suck, go home.

I had really hoped ORF would stay open for the good crews that live down there. I have to assume their abundance in flight attendants is to cover for the eventual resignations of those unwilling to commute once the base is closed.

What a shame, especially for those who lost Raleigh then Norfolk.

Did they officially announce that ORF is closing?

No.

I'm just not hopeful, especially with the language and tone used in the last corporate email.
