JNC Ledger E-Mail just went out regarding the lanyards. Another letter had to be sent to GM & TK.

"The Company’s effort to change the approach to lanyards is improper, ill-advised and counter-productive. Instead of creating a bigger issue over a silent and non-disruptive show of support for an appropriate contract, in the Association’s view, management should focus its energy on completing that contract. The joint MECs support a pilot’s right to wear the new ALPA lanyard and will fully represent a pilot who the Company attempts to discipline."

In so many words, "Quit throwing a tizzy tantrum like a 5 year old and go do your homework. If you so much as mess with one of us, I'll rip you a new one, got it?!?!". I approve of this message.
Way to go Alaska MEC! Unlike in the past, we've finally grown a pair.

Yea, the perception of the lanyard to our passengers... Easily solvable with a good TA...

I just read TK's message. Wow! Seriously? I totally agree with what Jetlife said ^^^^ above.

This is rich: "Finally, while there are clearly strong and different opinions regarding the progress of negotiations, my hope is that we do not let this become contentious."

It already has become that way. Dragging things out with the TPA and now the JCBA has shown us enough contempt on the part of management towards its pilots.

I'm wearing the lanyard. They are welcome to remove me from flight status.

Default I pity the fool!

When/where is your informational picket? Can your union brothers and sisters from other ALPA carriers join you? Our MEC's are awaiting direction and want to get y'all the support you deserve.

TK claiming the pilot group of being contentious. Seriously? Did WA legalize meth in the recent days? I don't think puzzle palace realizes that they're adding more fuel to the fire--an uncontrollable blaze that will burn them. Thank you Mr. Management for ever strengthening this pilot group. Stupid is what stupid does.

I'm pretty sure the VP of Flight Ops is on the AS Management retirement plan. Its MUCH better than the ALPA plan, FWIW.
