I pity the fool!
As I read the latest bulletin regarding the "lanyard policy", I can't help but feel the company's desperation. ALPA hit a nerve and puzzle palace twitched. It appears to be one of the last ditch efforts to intimidate the pilot group. Quite the contrary, Mr. Management! You've just added more fuel to the fire and I foresee this pilot becoming even more unified than ever before.
The author of this bulletin just became the the prime candidate for the star of the next JackAss movie. I pity the fool!

I like this sentence from the uniform guideline in the FOM: "Failure to comply will be grounds for removal from flight status."
Yeah, because we have an over-abundance of reserve pilots to cover all the pilots being pulled off their trips for wearing the lanyards.
Anyway, I would have expected this bulletin from a certain non-union regional I left all those years ago. It's sad that our management is afraid of a lanyard.

you can find it on TT, but basically it says only company lanyards are approved and the captain should be policing this policy. Unless its an unusual circumstance, if you are caught out of appearance standards you can be removed from the flight.

Any lanyard is acceptable except for those pretty orange ALPA National approved lanyards, allegedly. If the company had half a brain and a set of balls, they'd produce a list of approved lanyards. Until then, good luck in court.
On a different note, I for one could careless how you got here. Welcome. I'll be buying the first round brotha!
