Yikes... "a race to the bottom". Good luck to you guys. The almighty dollar strikes again!

ForeverJunior 01-07-2018 05:45 AM

Good article. Thanks for sharing.

B&B hate bad PR.

Packrat 01-07-2018 10:44 AM

Brad obviously doesn't remember how "successful" Ray Vecci was at trying the same tactic.

OrionDriver 01-07-2018 10:50 AM

Not sure Alaska will get that coveted 11th JD Power award. Seems they have spent all of Alaska's "special sauce", accumulated over decades. I'm sure they have an exit strategy for themselves. But for the rank and file...

Arctichicken 01-07-2018 11:43 AM

This article hit some key points except for some of the comments made by a so called “senior captain “ regarding pilots slowing down the operation. If anything, this management is 100% at fault for every single cluster and debacle of the operation. Every employee’s performance is a direct result of company’s action. Lack of tools to do the job, a hostile work environment, and greedy & unneccesary cost cutting measures created by Angle Lake was-is-will be the perfect special sauce for this melt down. A vote of no confidence is in order.

BiloxiJack 01-07-2018 12:00 PM

Vote of no confidence should absolutely be conducted.

Singlecoil 01-07-2018 12:52 PM

Here is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t come work for Alaska. Not only is the operation an utter disaster, you have not one, but two Alaska pilots telling the press that an illegal slowdown is taking place (which it’s not). Who would want to work with people who are so monumentally stupid? Now we will be dragged into federal court and slapped with an injunction of some sort because of these idiots. It’s like the police coming to tell you your wife was found dead and instead of saying, “What? How? Why!?!” You say, “Good! I hated that ***** and I’m glad she’s dead!” God help this place.

With the employee meetings coming up I hope everyone posting anonymously on APC will show up to a meeting to speak with management directly.

Face to face is a far better way to communicate.

They could use a combination of employee surveys/CP/union recommendations/water cooler comments and save both parties time.

I’m hitting up Nordstrom rack for some brown loafer shopping instead!

Definitely true but it’s still better than posting on here. Good luck on your job hunt.

So, it’s called “Cookiegate”....
When an FA I know saw me a couple of weeks ago and griped about it, I could hardly believe her.
How cheap can you get? NO COOKIES FOR YOU!!!!
I feel sad, we used to try to be top-tier. Now... :(

FA: Can I get you guys anything?

FO: A Coffee, and some of those 'forbidden' cookies please.

FA: Sorry, the cookies are off limits. Anything else?

Capt: Black java, and a SLEEVE of those Capt Cookies.

FA: Didn't you hear me re: the cookies.

Capt: Yes I did, Now get me TWO Sleeves. Tell whoever you need to. I DON'T Care.

Baja.

TransWorld 01-08-2018 09:20 AM

CA: Why only half a cup of coffee? You know I need a full cup to stay awake. Otherwise I will have to call in Fatigued for the next leg.

FA: Sorry, it is another cost saving directive.

2loud 01-08-2018 09:24 AM

No one really needs to “slow down” since management turned the operation upside down on their own. BT, BM, TK, and the rest of his circus clowns need to find a different line of work. Y’all are not cut out for this rodeo!

Management/Company Guy: Oh man this is bad.......we look sooo cheap and petty.

Union Guy: Yeah! Yeah! Get them!! oh wait..... Oh man this is bad.......can't have have pilots talking about deliberately hurting the operation.

Delta Guy: (while reading The Art of War)......We're in Hot!

Customer: I just want cheap tickets and cookies (and maybe some good coffee).

airb320 01-09-2018 10:52 AM

Did you guys see the Survey results? That should tell them something, hopefully:eek:

Klsytakesit 01-09-2018 12:19 PM

Without question, the most effective communication tool we have is our absence and our silence. Do not attend these “gatherings of the minions” hosted by the narcissistic boys that run this company. They measure our willingness and support by the body count in attendance. These are not and never have been a forum for questions and answers....Resist...Equally important in this war is the complete shutdown of communications to the chief pilot/paper clip sorter and his trusty assistants.....100% of them have clearly stepped accross a line that separates them from us forever....Ignore them. Make them completely ineffective. Do not ever attend any of their egoistic, chest thumping social gatherings....They are mere pawns and as such have no more information then the rest of us. If we do this...Fly the contract as we are legally allowed. Follow the FOM/FH so that they have no quarter with us. Be safe, be legal and be quiet.....

2loud 01-09-2018 12:20 PM

Now that their metrics is telling them the turd has hit the fan, bean counters B&B are forced to react. I don't know how these jackasses can keep on running the operation into the ground and still keep their jobs. Imagine what would happen if pilots operated at their level. Arrogance, narcissism, and incompetence are the main ingredients in AAG's special sauce.

Where does one see the results, I feel like you might say that Alaska World site? Well if that’s the case, no thanks, I stay off of that propaganda machine.

The pilot web page, under "Operations News".

I agree with be safe and be legal but not with be quiet. Why voice our concerns here in an anonymous forum yet avoid chances to voice those same concerns face to face with AAG management and our Chief Pilots? Will it make any difference; who knows but in my opinion it’s better than saying nothing. Throughout history being quiet has never successfully changed anything. Lastly, if we are quiet then we have no right to complain about the result.

Klsytakesit 01-10-2018 07:25 PM

Triple crank....you are missing the point....Not one of the chief pilots gives an ounce of *** about what you have to say. But they all need to feed their egos with the sound of your voice....And the leadership has never and will never listen to you...But they like their pawns/chief pilots feed their egos with your presence and your questions. .The 500000 megawatt message sent by our absence and our silence is this...My union speaks for me...the end...And again, 2020 starts now....No more direct negotiations

Saltlife85 01-11-2018 07:38 PM

Well said. Agree 100%

Is this a metaphor for how your merger is going? AS/VX plane hits a parked truck! Doh!

Jim Cramer today on the AS/VX merger.
"I thought this would be good for them but I..., I just don't like getting in front of freight trains".
