Default 90 seat scope... are you kidding me

In a period of time when the economy is churning along and airlines are making record profits AS and VX’s MEC’s are about to ask us to willingly accept the worst scope language in the industry, 90 seats. For this draconian decision the jr will receive 30 pieces of silver (slope). Oh they will tell you the boogeyman is at the door. Every VX pilot posts on here that they are cobras, well cobras this is your negotiating committee’s doing. Thank SA and the other two defuses for this. If you vote this in you are a moron. Can you say recall. The company knows the only way 90 seat jets show up at horizon, without this place shutting down, is us doing it to ourselves. Then politely smiling and asking for more. Vote this down and tell the company we will see you in 2020!

90 seats? It could be 76 seats, it could be 50 seats - the seat count hardly matters if there's no limit on airframes or no maximum ratio of contracted flying to mainline flying. What a joke.

Also, when can the rest of us expect to be filled in on the information that you're privileged to have already?

It is 90 seats. You will see it soon, if both LEC’s push it out for a vote. The 90 seat planes are fueled and ready to go. B&B are smiling with their fingers crossed. Once they are here there will be no scoping them out later. Tell the company if anything shows up at Horizon greater then 76 seats we will grind this place to a stand still.

If that is true that is beyond pathetic! Especially if it goes to a vote, talk about embarrassing.

Well said.
And the fact is, with Airbus getting behind bombardier and with Boeing getting behind the Embraer e-2 series, and the Mitsubishi coming out, SOMEBODY will be flying 90-120 seat jets on routes where they are financially superior to the smaller 737 models.
IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

Whether that becomes the entry level equipment for the majors, or top end equipment for some super regional with no codeshare partners comes along to establish a network involving routes suited for these airframes is the real question. Because nature hates a vacuum and these planes will be flown on these routes.

Personally. I think mainline pilots ought to be flying them for mainline pay scale, bottom rung mainline pay scale maybe, but mainline Nonetheless. Otherwise, someone else lnevitably will.

When Delta opened this door back in 1995' the 50 seat proliferation began the spread of disease and discontent to all the majors. it got worse with bigger RJ's.

AS and VX, stop this cancer now!

I doubt the management is worried about a vote. There is no scope in our contract, they can put any plane of any size at Horizon if they wish.

Horizon is the red headed b@stard stepchild of Air Group. The darling to receive these would be Skywest no doubt and they would be more than fired up to do it. Horizon pilots do NOT want this.

You guys better hold the line.

Skywest can't fly anything with 90 seats, for any carrier, because Delta's scope prevents them from doing so.

Someone correct me if that's inaccurate.

I heard this too. I have looked through my emails and can't find anything about this 90 seat stuff. What email can I find this under?
