Just trying to start a conversation on how we can get "Most West Coast" actually heading in that direction. Cutting 3000 hours is not it, nor is there any talk of other airports that could add to that quote. Ie. Ontario, Sacramento, Fresno etc. These three alone could be a big win for Alaska I believe.

I'm as ****ed as anyone about this since I'll be back on reserve for 2 months after having been here close to 2 years and reserve at this company is worse than at a regional, but is there evidence that this is anything unique? Block hours are always cut after the holidays at every airline, this is hardly unprecedented. Although it is frustrating to say the least being at an airline so stagnant that THIS many lineholders are demoted back to reserve.

I went to Flight path/V1 not too long ago. Management acknowledged that the key to our success is going to be in the California markets. BM droned on about wanting to grow between 4-8% system wide but with intense focus on CA. Of course these guys can say whatever they want and we’ll see what actually happens but for all of you seeing backwards movement, hopefully this comes true and soon.

I was told in flight path something similar except growth would be with Horizon and mostly out of SAN and SJC. They may have been playing to the QX crowd as this comment drew applause from the QX folks who were hammering them on outsourcing to OO.

Bottom line is there is nothing to be optimistic about here.

Good thing all the new EMB 175s at QX are the 89,000 lb version. Glade we have scope to stop that.... oh wait.
