Great for the Alaska brand in Seattle..
Delta possibly orders 100 737 Max....
Nothing should engender more hometown love than letting Delta be the the airline that keeps Boeing employees in groceries. That’ll be a nice “News at 6” teaser. |
Nice journalism:
Bottom lineAt this point this is just a rumor from a reliable source, and doesn’t seem to be in the final stages yet, but this sure could be interesting. |

Yeah but this one literally says "it's just a rumor." I suppose anything is possible but there is no way any US airline is looking at increasing its Cap Ex in a time like this. Everyone is in survival mode with a goal of getting cash burn as low as possible to survive this pandemic.

did you even read the article? It’s a way to reduce cost now by getting Boeing to take back the 717s currently on lease for a future purchase/lease of 737 MAX aircraft. Save cost now for future purchase of aircraft after the airlines have recovered. Makes sense to me.

I personally don't think too many people in the PNW care about Boeing other than actual Boeing employees anymore. They've taken WA taxpayers for a ride getting 8.7 billion dollar tax cuts to "save jobs" which the politicians foolishly gave them with no hard guarantees, they moved the HQ to Chicago, they screwed up on the Max. Greedy management has run Boeing into the ground and the workers of course pay the price. Boeing doesn't get or deserve much hometown love and not too many people outside of Boeing and Delta employees care much about a Delta Max order in my opinion anyway.
