Inter-island mandatory 14 day quarantine ends June 16. Anyone visiting from outside the Hawaiian islands must still quarantine for 14 days after arrival until at least August 1. It’s already been extended one month at least twice, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it pushed out past August 1.

i just thought it was curious, as long as we’ve been going there that we weren’t even mentioned in the article.

Because the article is all about inter-island flying, which we don’t do.

Just in case anyone else is interested in this subject.

https://www.mauinews.com/news/local-...ntine-flights/

HAL (grim prospects) and SWA ( relatively bright prospects) ramping up for increasing interisland load factors but the only schedule change I see on HNL OGG is HAL adding an extra daily flight (going from 6 to 7, SWA stays with 3) and HAL interisland is going to mostly A321NEOs. (I think it takes longer to start those big P&Ws than it does to fly the leg!)

Our website is accepting reservations non stop SAN-HNL starting August 1st but I suspect those will be pushed back yet again.

I heard a rumor for an air cargo agent (almost as impeccable a source as OTZMEA!) that our twice daily SEA HNL will be reduced to one a day and we will add a daily flight from another west coast city (I assume LAX or SFO)

My crystal ball is pretty blurry. No idea how this will play out.

Yeah even my dart throwing monkey isn't sure about Hawaii. I still trust him more than OTZ/MEA.

Oh dart throwing monkey says we will have to wait a little while longer on the next system bid. Maybe even another week or two...

If you can’t understand that while the information he’s got is fairly accurate, ultimately it’s all subject to change by those who actually make the decisions, then what can anybody say to you? I have no doubt there was another bid coming - JL said it himself in that last memo, but that was before an agreement on long-term leaves surfaced. I would expect them to re-assess the next bid if B&B were to sign off on this today.

I can’t see those two signing this agreement without trying to change it at the last minute.
