Bottom line....no protections for furloughed Alaska Pilots while VA was hiring less qualified applicants during the Alaska furlough. The first VA guy on the list bumped a guy at Alaska who had 18 years at Alaska before VA hired it's first pilot. I think VA guys made out pretty good all considering. And we all got an early pay raise which now looks even better given our current situation. Yes its in the past....but former VA guys aren't going to convince the pilot group that they got a raw deal with the SLI. Of course things like adjusting to Alaska's schedule and the closure of the JFK base were major blows to VA guys....but thems are the breaks when your company opens itself up to being acquired.

Respectfully, I’m not taking the bait. Good day

Are we really gonna start this tit for tat stuff (pc) again? It happened... no one was happy with the outcome... let’s move on.

Not part of the discussion but if you think your basket-weaving degree from State U is a qualification think again. We furloughed so Wall St. would reward us. And because we created a large training bubble for the MD 80....Have flown with 100’s of former VX pilots....All very qualified in 121 ops....

Touché! That guy will be sitting in a rest home still whining. Air Tran would have been long gone by now.

LESS qualified? You don’t have a clue as to what you are talking about, that renders the rest of your statement moot.

If I remember correctly, the Valuejet ... I mean "airtran" ... guys would have been better off taking the first offer as suggested by one of the guys on the mec... Instead they shot that down and the second offer was not quite as good.
