Ouch at the end, and the cops didn't lay a finger on him.

Police brutality. They made him fall and injury himself. If they had let him be, and the pilots would have taxied down the runway for take off. . .

Was the knee to the neck really necessary? Or is that just standard operating procedure?

I totally support law enforcement but that guy hit his head on the concrete pretty hard. He looked knocked out.
A neckhold isn't police brutality, using it to kill someone might be. |

Crazy guy at the airport? I'm biased towards the mil perspective but I'd tend to assume the guy might have a bomb or weapon on him and would want to positively control him until rendered safe. Plenty of guys in the desert got blowed up because they weren't quite paranoid enough.

A knee to the neck is the first best move always. Subdue first....Keeps you alive

Somebody famous said all you need to do is fire off two shotgun shells. That’ll solve the situation....

Usually not...Grab your foot on the way, dump you on your back and kneel on your neck....Unless you are a belted kicker😎

If you must kick, go for the knee. If he bends over to grab that you can probably safely punt his face. |

Especially if he has a knife, femoral artery is right there.
